From Pacific Northwest roots to international adventure, the wilderness has always been home.

My Mission

I believe in living close to the land, building strong community ties, and keeping wild spaces wild. Through photography, education, and storytelling, I hope to make the outdoors more accessible, more meaningful, and more protected for our generation and those to come.

My Story

I grew up exploring the forests, mountains, and ski areas of Washington, where an early connection to wild places set the foundation for everything that came next. That foundation only deepened during my time in the military, where I had the opportunity to travel across North America and Asia. Whether it was horseback riding through the Mongolian desert, navigating unfamiliar ranges in Alaska, or slogging through leech infested jungles in the Pacific, each experience shaped the skills and mindset that would lead me to a life centered around the outdoors.

Along the way, I learned how to move through technical terrain. Rock climbing, traversing glaciers, and skiing remote backcountry lines became more than just physical challenges. They turned into a way of life, blending endurance, focus, and respect for the environment. I then did my best to spread that knowledge, instructing hundreds of people across different cultures and languages.

Photography became a natural extension of these pursuits. I’ve used the lens to tell stories of the places and people that inspire me. From alpine ridgelines to long ski descents, solitary summits, and shared moments in remote corners of the world.

Today, through Trask Wilderness Co., I combine my photography with a mission: to create authentic imagery, offer meaningful instruction in mountain environments, and advocate for land access, wildlife conservation, and stewardship. Whether I’m documenting a brand, capturing a summit moment, or teaching movement through technical terrain, it’s all rooted in a drive to honor the landscape and help others experience it with intention.
